the show is one of family portraits:
my Folies Bergère dancing French grandmother
my papier maché modelling father
and my irritating brother-in-law
alongside D. H. Lawrence’s tortoise
John Keats’s vegetables
geologist Florence Bascomb’s dog
and some cardboard crabs
with sideways-moving eyeballs.
Includes mandolin-playing and and rhyming language.
Devised for adults
but of interest to the odd nine-year-old
