17 – 24 MARCH ’26 DONATIONS DOUBLED
Seven days to double your impact.
Help us keep creativity alive in the Chew Valley.
What is the Big Give?
The Big Give is a national match-funding campaign. For seven days only – from 12 noon on Tuesday 17 March to 12 noon on Tuesday 24 March 2026 – donations made to Valley Arts through the Big Give platform will be doubled.
That means a £10 gift becomes £20. A £50 gift becomes £100. We need to raise £2,500 in donations to unlock the full £2,500 in match funding – generating £5,000 in total for creativity in the Chew Valley.
Every donation counts, and it counts twice during the Big Give!

Why are we fundraising?
Valley Arts creates free, ambitious creative work rooted in the Chew Valley – bringing together artists, schools and communities to make things that matter. We believe creativity should be accessible to everyone, regardless of where they live or what they can afford.
In a rural community, that isn’t guaranteed. Running workshops, producing performances, supporting local artists and keeping venues thriving all takes resource. The Big Give is our chance to raise vital funds to support this work – and to double the impact of every pound you give.
What does your donation support?
Your gift goes directly towards Valley Arts’ programme of creative work across the Valley – including:
Free workshops in schools and community spaces
Large-scale participatory performances involving hundreds of local people
Support for local artists and theatre makers
Bursaries so young people can take part regardless of income
Keeping live performance thriving in village halls and local venues

The Chew Valley Hoard
One of the most significant archaeological discoveries in British history was made right here – 2,584 silver pennies buried during the Norman Conquest, now on their way home to Somerset. Valley Arts is creating a large-scale outdoor community production to celebrate the Hoard’s return, involving local artists, performers and volunteers from across the Valley. The script is in development, castings are confirmed for March, and the show opens in the summer 2026.

10th Anniversary Fringe Festival
This year marks a decade of the Valley Arts Fringe Festival – a celebration of local talent, community performance and creative ambition. Your support helps us make this milestone year bigger and bolder than ever.
Youth Theatre
Valley Arts’ Youth Theatre gives young people the chance to perform, create and build confidence in a supportive, ambitious environment. Your donation helps keep it accessible for every young person in the Valley, regardless of their background.
It works – because you made it work last year
Last year, thanks to the generosity of this community, Valley Arts surpassed its Big Give target and unlocked vital match funding. That support helped develop ambitious community projects, grow our Youth Theatre, and keep live performance thriving in venues across the Valley.
This year, we want to go further. With your help, we can.

To include Gift Aid, simply tick the Gift Aid box when you donate and confirm that you are a UK taxpayer. It takes seconds and makes a real difference.
